BOLD/GOLD provides campers with valuable leadership skills needed to thrive in school and life. A desire to have fun and challenge one’s self in spirit, mind and body is required! No outdoor experience or equipment is required (can be provided by camp).

The BOLD/GOLD experience will take you on a multi-day journey through a beautiful National Forest located in North Carolina where participants will be introduced to basic camping, hiking and backpacking skills. Additionally they will form lasting bonds with fellow participants as they work together to become a successful team on the trail.

This trip will allow campers to explore one of the most beautiful landscapes, the mountains of North Carolina.

The primary goal of the BOLD/GOLD program is to reduce and remove barriers for all youth and teens, regardless of experience, ethnicity or socioeconomic status, to enjoy access to the outdoors through wilderness adventure and to build leadership values and skills.

Why BOLD/GOLD?

Increased self of confidence and self awareness

A deeper connection with and respect for the natural world

A foundation of backpacking, hiking and camping skills that they can continue to expand on

A close bond and friendship with other participants
