October News Roundup
Check out the latest from Camp Weaver!
Looking for ways to energize your students? Are you looking for activities that compliment the classroom? Then it’s time to start thinking about your field trips to Camp Weaver this fall!
Children are innately curious, but learning within the four walls of a classroom each day can sometimes limit their ability to exercise that curiosity. Nature provides countless opportunities for discovery, creativity, problem-solving and STEM education. Interacting with natural environments allows children to learn by doing and experiment with ideas. Our diverse programs enhance traditional classroom learning in a local outdoor setting, providing hands-on opportunities for students to learn and enjoy nature, build self-esteem and develop teamwork. Camp Weaver’s Outdoor Education program includes lesson plans that meet needs for a variety of grade levels in accordance with North Carolina curriculum requirements.
Parents, if you would like this kind of experience for your child, ask their teacher to invest in their education by booking a field trip to Camp Weaver.

YMCA Camp Weaver offers a weekend winter mini camp each December for rising 1st – 9th graders that provides a fun opportunity for first time campers or campers who want to catch up with their friends and summer counselors. Activities include the ropes course, archery, sports, skateboarding, canoeing, crafts, campfire and much more. We would love to see all of our campers back at camp over winter break and meet new campers!
Winter Camp is both a great introduction to the resident Camp experience for first time campers, and a great reunion for returning campers!
