Health and Safety

Health and safety is our top priority at YMCA Camp Weaver. During the summer, a Registered Nurse is on-site day and night for all of our camp sessions. Camp Weaver is accredited through the American Camp Association and meets ACA guidelines for camper safety, this means we are held to a higher standard of safety and quality in all our programming. We are also a part of the YMCA of Greensboro and meet all guidelines for Y-USA safety practices, including intensive safety measures related to aquatics. Counselors that staff aquatics activities and the ropes course receive additional safety training related to these activities.

Meals are prepared with your active child in mind. Our food selections not only taste good but are healthy too. Just ask anyone who attends our camp! Our delicious meals are definitely a highlight of the Camp Weaver experience! Our kitchen staff is trained to serve individuals with a variety of dietary needs and food allergies, and we are highly accommodating to those with special dietary restrictions.

Our staff goes through an intensive training process prior to the arrival of campers where they are able to learn a variety of skills necessary to provide a safe and fun experience for all children. Each counselor goes through a thorough screening prior to hire that includes interviews, references, background checks and drug tests. All of our staff are CPR, First Aid and AED certified prior to starting employment. You can feel confident placing your child under our care and supervision.
